          A   short weekend trek in mid october to nagtibba peak     was a continuation of my  journey to explore the adventures of  majestic himalayas of garhwal  . Nagtibba which is also called the 'serpents peak ' is the highest peak of the lesser himalayan region of garhwal located 57 kms from mussoorie in tehri garhwali .As the mythology goes, it was the abode of snake god , nagdevta hence the name nagtibba. For the locals , its also a divine place for worship of the serpent god seeking protection of their cattles.                           Pantwari village is the most pu blicised base camp for this trek from where most of the tourists go. However , through a local trek operator Trekupindia.com , I went through the Aindi Village which is 68 kms from mussoorie and approximately 2 hours drive. '"गूंजे हर दिशा मैं एक ही नाम जय श्री राम जय श्री राम" ..... .....and the hymn resounds as you walk  through the lanes and bylanes of the epic town  of Ayodhya .Its a living epitome of the  absolute devotion of the inhabitants of the town , followers of Lord Rama.  The ancient historical treatises describes Ayodhya as the magical city of gods, also the birthplace of Lord rama. However, the popularity of this town gained manifold in recent years being the political centrestage of decades old religious dispute surrounding the birth site of lord Rama. The distance between kanpur and Ayodhya being  approx 226 kms , provided me with the  perfect opportunity to get a glimpse of one of the India's most controversial as well as revered site.                                                           ...

  "The mountains are calling and I must go" , It may sound as a cliche but it aptly describes the enthusiasm of any trekker, the challenge of conquering the climb and experiencing the nature to  its fullest .   Uttarakhand is a paradise for trekkers having a terrain that has number of trek routes and destinations. Being myself an adventure seeker and mountain lover, i had been planning for quite a long time .However the  last one which stretched over 10 days ,was 15 years back   and therefore it felt like a herculean task to prep myself mentally and physically to undertake a trekking trip.But after doing some research, the destinations of valley of flowers and hemkund sahib popped up as the appropriate choice to a fresh start of this old passion of mine.
